Nigeria was properly represented at the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards 2017, with its brightest stars Wizkid and Davido leaving as victors.
The 22nd MOBO Awards was held on Wednesday night at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, United Kingdom.
Wizkid won the award for best International Act, beating out Jay-Z, Cardi B, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Migos, DJ Khaled and others.
Former president Goodluck Jonathan had this to say about the Star Boy’s win, “Thank you Wizkid for raising Nigeria’s flag high for the positive, not the negative. Your emergence as the Best International Act at the #MOBOAwards is a proud moment for Nigeria. And the fact that you emerged over JAY-Z and Drake makes it even more celebratory. WELL DONE. GEJ”
