Maleek Berry is striving to be one of the most promising rising stars in the world of Afrobeat.
The British-Nigerian singer gave an epic performance after selling out his first headline show at the Scala. The atmosphere was electric and he stayed true to his culture and artistry which captivated the audience. With an all star line up, from hosts to performances, the night was one to remember.
To host the show was, none other than, comedian Eddie Kadi; who kicked off the night with some current skits and hilarious outbreaks. Then the night turned up a notch as producers Juls and Legendury Beatz hit the stage and had the audience jumping to their hits. DJ Tunez dazzled the crowd with his smash breakout hit Iskaba, and showed them what it was all about.
When headliner Maleek Berry took the stage, the energy of the room hit an outstanding level. He performed tracks from his latest EP Last Daze of Summer like Let me Know, Nuh Let Go, Flexin, Eko Miami and of course Kontrol, which had the building electrified. He also performed tracks like Been Calling as well as an exclusive premiere of his new track Bend It.
Maleek also paid homage to some of the homegrown budding talent from the UK. He brought out a fan favorite, Not3s, who performed his hit Aladdin, as well as, Addison Lee and Yxng Bane, who’s remix of Shape of You made the crowd go wild.
The success of this show demonstrates the type of mark Maleek Berry is making as he claims superstardom in the industry. Representing for his city and continuing the growth and honor of AfroBeat, Maleek Berry seems like an artist we can expect around for a long time.
