Wizkid Reaches Milestone with Historic Royal Albert Hall Performance

Afrobeats superstar Wizkid sells out the Royal Albert Hall in London

On September 29, 2017, Nigerian superstar Wizkid became the first contemporary Afrobeats artist to headline a sold out show at the legendary Royal Albert Hall in London. The “Come Closer” singer captivated the crowd with nonstop hits over the course of an entertaining two hour set. If anyone needed confirmation about the globalization of afrobeats and Wizkid as the leader of the movement, this concert was surely it. Song after song was performed while a crowd of over five thousand sung along to every track.

Wizkid was joined by up and coming U.K. act Yxng Bane, who opened the show with some crowd favorites including his most famous song “Fine Wine”. The show was taken to another level however, when surprise guest Wande Coal, took the stage to perform his smash hit “Iskaba” alongside DJ Tunez. Even Wizkid couldn’t help but vibe to their performance after professing his love of the song.
