After Having an Historic 2016 Wizkid Wears the AfroBeat Crown 

Nigerian AfroBeat superstar Wizkid is the winner of the 2017 BET International Act: Africa Award. Wizkid is enjoying arguably the best year of his career, releasing hit after hit with some of the world’s most famous artists. His recent release “African Bad Gyal” off of his upcoming album “Sounds From the Other Side” features Chris Brown and has been gaining traction around the world.

Starboy took home the award ahead of other prolific AfroBeat artist such as Davido, Mr Eazi, Tekno and Stonebwoy. This is Wizkid’s second BET award since 2012, and if the Nigerian singer maintains his current success, there will be many more in his future.

Wizkid who was slated to be in Los Angeles this weekend was unavailable to collect his award.
